To reduce hunger and boost nutrition in the face of harsh economic realities faced by many families, a non-governmental organization, The Candlelight Foundation, has urged Nigerians to support less privileged persons around them with material and financial assistance. The call was made after a charity walk, which began from Babs Animashun Street in Surulere and ended at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere. Other Nigerians can support us or lend a helping hand to those around them,” she said. Mr. Femi Ogunde, corporate communication executive of Providus Bank, said the bank is ready to support projects that promote sustainable development goals through corporate social responsibility that would reduce poverty. He urged the government to do more in providing enabling environment for businesses to thrive and reduce the poverty index in the country.
